Every Bring Your Own Stone order here at Waystone begins with a rock that means something to someone. Our customer's brother found this obsidian in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho and gave it to her. She sent it to us to create a statement pendant necklace. When we saw the slightly transparent obsidian with striped patterns, we knew we had to do something special for it so the best part of the stone wasn't hidden by the setting.
The stone was polished and set in sterling silver with a custom cutout in the shape of Idaho on the back, making the transparency visible when the pendant is held up to the light. The necklace is especially precious to our customer now that her brother has joined the Navy and is no longer close by.
